Onwards and upwards!

It has been the Roam Scotland Rally since I have posted. Indeed since I have done any long rides. I can come up with a 1001 excuses so I will not bore you with them. Even though one of them would be attending, volunteering and watching the UCI champs.

What a celebration of cycling. We spent a whole day at the velodrome and it was absolutely amazing.

If you managed to attend or volunteer I hope you enjoyed it. There was a lot of waiting around during my volunteer stints, I was pee marshall at Scone and Dundee, I had the dubious honour of escorting one A Vinikourov to give his sample.

I am still suffering from breathing difficulties after my bout of Covid last year, so much so that I have given up my Jogging group and no longer run. I had hoped to do some duathlons but alas it is not to be. At the moment I am getting out when I can, still 4 or 5 times a week, that includes short shopping type rides, as well as longer rides. Although my breathing is still a bit ropey on the bike it is not as bad as when I am running.

What else has been happening? I have been out with my best buddy on the tandem, we have been to Critical mass Edinburgh, always good fun, if you are able to make it I urge you to come along. Last Saturday of every month meet at the Meadows. Route, timings etc are published in advance just check with Google! We have been to the Edinburgh Fringe and although we have taken bikes in the past we didn’t this time.

What is coming up? We have booked a break with the local CTC group in Dumfries and Galloway a week away cycling or not to our hearts content. The malaise that I have upon giving up the Lang Toun Joggers is slowly subsiding and I am looking forward to getting more miles in in the future. Thats all for now hopefully it will be so long before my next post.
